This is the ‘Squirt’ from Boon Inc. and it caught my eye. The orange bulb like thingy is where you put up to 3 ounces of baby food, which you can then squeeze out onto the spoon for easy feeding. It unscrews to be washed, apparently quite easy to clean. Being that I am only a couple months away from starting solid food with Ashley, I am kind of interested in this idea. At first thought, it seems to be a good idea, making feeding easier. No bowl for the kid to knock over and such. It also has a cap to keep the spoon clean for traveling.
However, I really don’t know that I buy it. First off, until you baby is feeding them selves, the messy bowl problem is easily solved… Don’t leave the bowl in arms reach. Sure you will forget once in a while, but put that Squirt down in front of a baby and that thing will be apart in under 5 seconds with high pressure squirtage coming out the hole, aimed right at the ceiling. So for messiness, I just don’t see it actually changing anything. The biggest mess with feeding a baby is not the feeder, but THE BABY. Until you can fix the broken part of the system (the baby), any number of changes to the feeding devices is not going to fix the actual problem.
BUT. I do see this as a potentially convenient travel feeder. Have however many of these Squirt spoons loaded up with the baby food for the day, pack into you baby bag, and go. No loose spoons getting dirty in the bag. Though this would mean you now need ice. So again, you are back to a jar and a delivery device. No real gain.
Except, this can allow you to feed with only 1 hand. Babies seem to have this magic property of requiring many many hands. So, if your out on the town, baby gets hungry, you need to feed but you would have to hold your baby. You could put the jar on a table and scoop, but why not just squeeze and feed. That sounds like an easier solution. So yeay, this thing might actually be convenient in some circumstances.
So hey, Boon inc, you want to send me one or two to test out, go right ahead. I will be solid feeding in 2 months probably.

Hi Dave,
I read your earlier post about Pampers (and improvements that could be made to the product) and thought you might be interested in a project we’re working on with Pampers Stages. We’re looking for the honest opinions of parents, and I wanted to know if you’d like to review the product on your site. If you are, we’ll send you a Jumbo pack of the correct size along with a tub of corresponding wipes. Please email me if you’re interested, we’d love to have your voice included.
Thanks so much, Victoria@rocketxl.com
