So we went out for our first outing that was purely for the purpose of going out. It was for the yearly party that our friends Phil and Paige Chadwick have every year about this time. Ashley did great. She slept most of the time. When she did wake up, she stayed up, and we played with her a bit, but it progressively went downhill from there. So we left after a total of about an hour and half of being there. Pretty good though, especially considering evenings are generally her fussy period of the day.

Ah yes, off to a stellar start as my child
No photoshop, no positioning of fingers, all 100% natural bad ass baby. Of course she constantly does this as do a lot of babies. I was trying to figure out why, and I think i got it. If you hold your hand loosely, and curl your fingers in, because your an adult, you have learned to micro-adjust your fingers as they curl in. However, if you try to shut that off, and you use all the muscles in your hand, specifically the ones in your palm, to curl your fingers in, then your outer fingers move first, causing the middle finger to be last in line, and gets stuck out in the cold. It’s pretty funny, when breast feeding she is always flipping-off mom.

Ashley was being very cute for the past few days, morning smiles, cooing, some laughs, etc. Today, not so much. Though there is a new thing she is doing. she keeps moving her hand away and towards her face. She does this repeatedly. Almost like she is figuring out proximity.

Mostly though, she is just being very grumpy. Everything we do is wrong, baby no like us today. We keep trying new formula every few days, because she seems to become more and more miserable as the days pass. Currently we are on Similac Sensitive… Um yea, the gas is just as bad, if not worse than the normal stuff. Plus the fact that it is pretty much just sugar, doesn’t make me happy.

Overall though, it is getting better. More days of good baby, and the beginnings or actual interaction with her is taking the edge off the fussiness. As i’m sure any parent will agree, the smiles just make it go away.

Flickr is great, but… The stupid sets on flickr default to ordering by oldest first and newest last. DUMB. So i was re-sorting them each time, but I keep forgetting. So instead of forgetting, i am giving up. Newest are at the end of the list. I might make another change and just get rid of the set, instead just using the tags. Since every photo is actually tagged, this would be fine.

UPDATE: alright I changed some things. The Flickr Badge on the side is now pulling from the Ashley “tag” instead of the Ashley Set, this works better. Also I changed the link under the flickr badge to link to the tag, instead of the set. The set is stupid I have decided, and is more trouble than it is worth. The tag is better, easier, how flickr should work anyway, and sorts things the right way. I am going to nuke the set, so if you have it bookmarked, your gonna need to get the new link from the right side of this page.
